Battery disposal information
Information on the disposal of batteries under the UK Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009
When selling batteries or products containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:
1. Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. End users are encouraged to take waste batteries to an appropriate collection point, for example at a local authority collection facility or at a retailer that offers a battery take-back service.
In the UK, distributors and retailers that supply 32 kg or more of portable batteries per year must provide free take-back of waste portable batteries. Many supermarkets and larger shops therefore provide collection points for used household batteries.
You may also return used batteries to us at the following address:
Marrakesch Orient & Mediterran Interior
Wegelinstr. 8
50354 Huerth
Germany
(Please return used batteries with sufficient postage and pack them safely for transport.)
2. Meaning of the symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol means that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
In addition, the following chemical symbols may appear on batteries:
- Pb = contains lead
- Cd = contains cadmium
- Hg = contains mercury
These substances may be harmful to the environment and human health. Waste batteries should therefore be collected and recycled separately.

3. Your contribution to environmental protection
By returning used batteries in the proper way, you actively help to protect the environment and support the recovery of valuable raw materials. Thank you for your cooperation.
